Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Buyers and sellers should meet with several real estate professionals before deciding who to hire. Experience, negotiation skills, and street savvy are very important in this industry. Real estate transactions can take quite a bit of time, buyers and sellers should hire an agent that they like and trust.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Buyers and sellers should know that the price of a home is dictated by the current market and the most recent sold homes in the subdivision (known as "comps" in the industry). Improvements to the home rarely translate to a dollar-to-dollar return on investment.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. It is imperative that they find someone who they can trust. Meet with prospective agents, ask them questions about their real estate experience, and try to find a rapport with them.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Buyers should narrow down their preferred location by researching areas and schools, driving through various neighborhoods, checking out the local amenities and mapping out their route to work. Buyers should also decide upon the amount of money they wish to allocate to their mortgage payment (including insurance, taxes, and HOA). Sometimes buyers will qualify for a higher mortgage payment than what they are comfortable paying!
