Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Most of my service jobs are data recovery, operating system reinstalls, hardware repair, virus removal, and pc upgrades.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Ask them for a short term limited warranty on any service they perform on your computer(s). Also, see if they have any kind of warranty on used and refurbished computers.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Being a small business owner first and foremost. Also, being paid to provide a service for something I enjoy doing.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Customers ask questions such as: How long service will take. How much I charge for repairs at my location and how much offsite service calls cost. Also, some customers ask for recommendations for free anti-virus and tools to improve computer performance.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I obtained my very first personal computer while in college. From that point on, I wanted to work in information technology.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Start out small. It's very possible to run a computer repair business out of your home office. A store front might be over kill at first and potentially lead to your business failing too soon.
