I performed a sold out show at Dazzle with The Love Royale in Denver, CO on February 14, 2012 www.theloveroyale.com

I performed a sold out show with Oakhurst in Fort Collins, CO at Hodi's Half Note on February 10, 2012.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I motivate students to perform, practice, and use their musical knowledge outside the classroom. I also perform instead of simply teaching all of the time. It is important for a teacher to be out in the field instead of always in the classroom.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Seeing students reach goals they never thought they could reach.

Teaching and talking about music.

Learning about people.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. How long does it take to be a good drummer?

I say it takes the amount of time you put into it. I also say that students should give themselves time/patience, accept where they are when practicing and the pupil will become great. Music should always be fun! It's challenging at times but it should be relaxing.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. Music is my passion and I love performing/teaching music. Music is how I make my living.
I also have hobbies. Golf seems to be the best one for me. It's low impact, takes patience, and it is calming.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I have always been interested in music. When I was in college I started teaching. I discovered that I really enjoyed watching students improve as musicians and have a musical passion. Teaching has also made me a better performer.

Plus, explaining what I have learned made me learn faster as a performer and teacher. Students give you clues to little things you might not think of. That is one of the many rewards.
