I do drywall (hang tape and texture), framing (wood and steel), and all types of carpentry (decks, cabinets, trim, doors, grid ceilings).
I can do flips, basement finishes or the whole job for residential or commercial.
Question and answer
Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. We do a lot of remodels and a few flips. Some commerical work as well
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Check refrences!!!!
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. That it's almost impossable to bid a job sight unseen. A contractor will see things that must be done that you wont. Like a load bearing wall that can't be moved or that your trim was painted with oil based paint and you can't cover it with latex without preperations.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. Our attention is on quality. We take the time to make sure that the job is done right and on time
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. Knowing that I've done something that looks great and will be enjoyed for years to come
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. #1 is when can you start? We a small enough company that our overhead is low, but large enough that we can start any job within one or two days
Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A. I had a very large dog that went everywhere with me. once I went to a job to meet with the superintendant while we talking my dog eat the dougnut he had in his hand! He jumped about 3 feet off the ground. After he got over the shock we both had a good laugh!
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. That the majority of carpenters are hard working people that have dedacated thier lives to learning thier craft. Don't judge all of us by the few that are fast talkers not fast workers.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. My Grandfather was a carpenter, my Dad was a carpenter, I have two brothers that are carpenters..... It's a family thing.
Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.
A. We did a kitchen that had pink tile and tacky yellow linoleum and we built an Italian style kitchen. It looked beautiful!
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. I read trade mags all the time for new tools and techniques
Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?
A. The cnc machine. You can do things with it that my father could only dream of doing.
Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.
A. The kitchen I mentioned earlier. It cost $2,700 in labor and took a week
Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.
A. I price each job differently because no two jobs are alike
Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?
A. Be there on time and every day. Be allert and pay atention! Sometimes it'll be a along time before you see a particular technique again
Q. Write your own question and answer it.
A. What are your goals in your field? I really enjoy working with wood. I think of it more like an artist than a carpenter. wood is a versitile medium to work with.
