I teach private music lessons to children and youth ages 4 to 18 years old. I provide beginner to professional level flute lessons, and beginner level guitar and piano lessons.

I graduated from Eastern University in St. David's, PA with a BA in Music Education and Music Performance. Immediately after graduation, I taught general music part-time in Cherry Creek school district.

I am currently the director of three bands and two guitar ensembles in four elementary schools in the Douglas County school district. I have been playing the flute for 16 years, the piano for 12 years, and the guitar for 10 years.

Music education is a passion of mine. I am a patient and motivational teacher. I teach using a fun traditional approach.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. My most common types of jobs: performing solo and in ensembles, teaching music education, directing ensembles, and teaching private lessons.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Make sure the availability and price are right for you. Also, you do not want a teacher with little to no experience!

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. My work stands out from others who do what I do because I am able to engage my students and motivate them to make progress through every avenue of their life. I am not only teaching my students how to play their instrument, but also theory. I am constantly trying to apply music to my students' lives through games, reading, humor, history, and etc.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. The highlight of my day is to work with my students. I enjoy seeing my students' progress week to week and year to year.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. My students have plenty of questions for me. For example, "how to I play a D#?," "Can you play the piccolo?," and "What other instruments do you play?" The answer to the first one depends on which instrument I'm teaching at the moment. Yes, I can play the piccolo. I can play all of the instruments in the band and orchestra (I'm certified to teach up to the intermediate level or higher on all of them). I also play the guitar and piano.
