    8. I am recently divorced and I was so nervous about hiring movers because I had never moved on my own before. I called a moving company that I had found on Craigslist and they came out to help me figure out what I wanted to take with me to my new place (which was much smaller than my old one) we made a list of what I should take with me and what I wanted to take to donate. I was so pleased with their help I did not expect them to care so much. First Class Movers really care!.

    I'm a grown man in good shape. But these guys make any one of us look like pansies. They didn't start charging me until after they came in my house, surveyed the place, and then broke out the time contract. Then, it was on! I had a 2-man crew who were sprinting all over the place from object-to-object, carrying loads of inhuman proportion. Here I am, hoisting a large wardrobe box down the stairs, and Ian (chief mover) comes sprinting up the stairs with 2 filled boxes on his back! I nearly shat my pants. These guys work so hard and fast that they are committed to making the move happen in your timeframe. They don't slack at all and you won't believe how fast they do things. Call these cats; they're cheap and do a great job!

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. We do all types of moves from small moves like a single item to large moves where we move the entire contents of a persons home or office building. We do it all, no job is to big or to small!

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Do your research and find a company that you can trust. Just because the service is cheap does not mean it is reliable.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. If I were a customer I would want to know what are some tips that can help my move go more smoothly and how can I save time and money? Moving is stressful so First Class Movers has included several First Class Tips on our website to help alleviate some of that stress. We encourage all of our customers to check out our First Class Moving tips located on our website.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. People looking to move and are searching to hire a moving company should try to have a list of their items that they are wanting to move. The more detailed that list is the better. In order to give an accurate quote of the cost we need to know some details about it.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. First Class Movers has been in the moving industry for over 14 years. We understand the importance of being on time and ready to work. We only hire professional full time movers unlike other moving companies who hire temporary movers with no experience. We also make it our mission to save our customers money by finding ways to shorten the timeframe of their move. We offer tips that can help them save time and money.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. What I like most about what I do is the part where I am helping people. I feel a sense of pride when I can make a day that is known for being one of the most stressful days in a persons life less stressful.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Do you move piano's, pool tables, large and heavy items? Are you able to disassemble and reassemble my furniture? Are you experienced, reliable movers? The answer to all of the questions listed is Yes! We are more then able and willing to do all of the above.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. We at First Class Movers enjoy helping people and that is why we do what we do. We are so blessed to be able to touch peoples lives often when they need us most. We have had several customers throughout the years whom were down on their luck so to speak and we were able to help them without adding to their misfortune. That is the best feeling one could have.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I wish customers were more aware of how challenging the moving industry can be. Not only does this profession require strength and agility but it also requires a degree of patience, understanding and a lot of experience. Many people do not know that the moving industry heavily relies on gratuity much like a waiter position or valet attendant this industry is part of the hospitality field. We want to keep our movers happy and when they do not receive gratuity they feel that they have done something wrong or that they disappointed the customer in some way. Gratuity is a way of showing ones appreciation and also lets us know that we did a good job.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I am a very active person and I wanted to find a way to earn money and stay healthy and active. I also love helping people so becoming a mover was a great fit for me.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. We did a move for a women who was moving from a large condo to an even larger home and we had to make several stops along the way to pick up furniture from different places. We were able to help her assemble all of her furniture and position it in her home the ways she liked.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Absolutely, I am currently working on my degree in distribution and logistics. I am always learning new ways of doing things in order to work smarter not harder. Also, all of our movers are either college educated or current students a lot of people think that to be a mover one only needs strength, however this could not be further from the truth. A great mover has both brains and braun and the most important skill is technique. Many times I have seen body builders and power lifters try to join the moving industry only to find themselves exhausted half way through the move by relying on their strength alone to carry furniture. Don't get me wrong strength is good but technique is better.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. There are always new developments in the moving industry. For example there are new ways of carrying and lifting, safety precautions, etc. We at First Class Movers make every effort to ensure that our movers are both knowledgeable and safe.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. The last move we did was 10 hours and we were so pleased with the outcome and so was our customer.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. 1 First Class Mover is $25/hr
2 Man Crew is $50/hr
3 Man Crew is $75/hr
Essentially it is $25 per mover per hour.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. I would suggest that someone looking to get into the moving industry know that this line of work requires a lot of patience, teamwork, skill and selflessness. Movers are not made overnight and sometimes it is frustrating when we are not good at something right away. Also, if you think you are a professional mover just because you can lift heavy weights you are very wrong and are only doing a diservice to the industry and the customers. Be open to learning from experienced movers.
