Ryan did an AMAZING job on my whole house and I was very happy! He was very clean and affordable.

Ryan painted my dad's house (interior and exterior) so we could put it on the market. He did a nice enough job that our realtor approached Ryan to paint her son's house after seeing how Dad's house turned out. That's a real compliment, since her husband is a contractor--she knows good workmanship when she sees it.

Ryan did an excellent job fauxing our formal dining room and powder room. He had such creative ideas, we just let him roll (no pun intended) with it. We're planning on tapping his creativity next for an aquarium mural in the kids room. We value his commitment and quality work. - Jack

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Our most common projects are in the realm of residential interior repaints and fun, funky kids rooms. We also complete a great number of exterior repaints and small to medium interior & exterior commercial projects.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. I wish I didn't have to say this, but I do. "There're A LOT of guys out there painting because they think it's easy, fast money. Watch out for these people. When you receive a completely unorganized, underdetailed estimate - that's a red flag. Also, 9 out of 10 times you are going to get what you pay for. If you go with the cheapest bid you receive, you are probably going to get the cheapest work. Painters that come in with a 'higher' priced bid tend to know what they are doing, as well as know what (monetarily) it takes to keep their business alive and thriving."

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. From a customers viewpoint, especially on exterior work, I would want to know the whole process that goes along with painting my house. Why am I paying thousands of dollars JUST to have my house painted? The answer goes back to what I said before. This is an art. 'Real' painters know what it takes to give a quality product. There should not be any 'secrets' to speak of, only 'tricks' to make a perfect finished product.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Mod Paint Works is clean, friendly and meticulous. We are a quality first paint company. MPW is not satisfied until the client is 100% satisfied. All work is backed by a 1-Year No Questions Guarantee. This ensures prospective clients that we stand behind our work and want to get jobs done right the first time, especially in our climate. In the paint trade, it is all about preparation. Without proper preparation the paint will not adhere to its surface correctly. With this being said, preparation can make or break a successful paint career. I take pride in continuing education to stay up-to-date on the newest products and tools. Without proper knowledge you can't get proper results!
Clients are always 100% satisfied when we leave a job site. That is my number one goal!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I have 11 years experience in the paint trade. The past 3 years have been on my own - being my own boss and running Mod Paint Works This allows me to deal with clients on my own level and gives me the freedom to interact with clients and make them feel like I am more than a laborer coming to spread paint on their walls. I am a skilled tradesman that enjoys interacting with my clients and seeing the joy and satisfaction in their eyes upon completing a job. I love everything about the art of painting. And, yes, it truly is an art!

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. In the paint trade, receiving estimates can be overwhelming for prospective clients. Prices can be double or triple from one company to another. Personally, "I have a level of quality that I pride myself on and that transfers into Mod Paint Works "Values". Painting is not just spreading paint on walls - there are a lot of aspects that go into providing a quality, long-lasting paint job. This level of quality that I adhere to might come along with a higher price, but it also comes along with a "1-year No-Questions Guarantee" on workmanship, and a peace of mind that your paint job is going to last. I'm not painting just to get by in life, I'm painting because it is a career I enjoy and I want to provide the absolute best finished product for my clientele!"

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I wish customers knew the whole process a bit better. I am completely happy to offer such information and often times do. I love the astonishment I get from some clients when they hear the amount of work that goes into a complete, professional paint job!

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. Through a summer job as a teenager. What was once a summer job has now turned into a career! I love it!

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. A good sized exterior we did. Complete change of color with 2 different accent colors. Upon completion, the owner received a compliment that her house looked brand new! "Your house looks like a model home!", the neighbor explained. We strive to turn heads and your referrals are our success! As a quality first paint company you will wonder why you ever used another company in the first place.
