Question and answer

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. My main concern when looking for a teacher for myself is the person's reason for being a teacher. Do they have a passion for learning? Do they have specific training in pedagogy? Are they constantly working on better themselves as an educator? The teacher's main role is to inspire and help the student learn through inquiry, is the teacher good at asking questions and being open to many answers?

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. What is your past experience? Why do you do what you do/what are your passions? In what ways do you continue to improve your service?

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I like that I get to teach students of all ages. My current studio ranges in age from 5 to 85. I love the opportunity to get to develop curriculum for such a variety of generations. I also love learning about each individual's musical passions and their desires to improve and better their musicality.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I love to teach! And, I love working one on one and in small groups with people to help them realize their musical potential.
