Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Because we teach only one skill at a time in a short amount of time, students can focus on skills they need without committing to a weekend long class. Also, since we only teach 3 students at a time, you have the ability to ask pertinent questions and have help in every class. We are not trying to sell you products or projects, we want to teach you skills that fit your budget and time pressed schedule. When students get that "OH WOW! I CAN USE THAT!" look during class. Also when students come back and have not only improved their sewing, but taken on a harder project and had success. Bravo!

I am just getting started sewing - I have made a robe and now and 1/2 way through a shirt. I've taken the basic sewing courses with Tish, and she has gotten me off to a good start. I plan to take more as I advance through my projects . . . e.g. zippers before i start a pair of pants. Tish knows her stuff and knows how to teach to where I am, so I like her classes.

I started taking Tish's classes last winter. She is a great instructor and I have learned a lot. I highly recommend her classes. They are very addicting!

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

After sewing for 30+ years, it just made sense to help new sewers learn some "old" tricks and new to improve their sewing. A lot was lost over the years, with the end of Home Ec and other mandatory classes of back in the day. These skills are still relevant, and even more appreciated in today's digital world!

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Teach adults all the ins and outs of sewing projects, whether it is to make a simple tote bag, or to help with a complicated vintage pattern. Our classes are tailored to cover a specific topic, so you can zone in on your needs without taking a long class or revisiting topics you already know.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

It is not as hard as it looks, if you break down each piece into it's basic parts. A complicated sewing project is made of seams, darts, and fasteners just like a simple shirt, or a bag, so don't freak out, think it through. Take your time and don't skip steps!
