Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Hire a production team that has experience, creativity, the best equipment and the ability to work with people. Making visually exciting videos isn't just about technology and pretty pictures, it's about getting people to come out of their shells and communicate people to people. The equipment and technoloogy are merely the conduit.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Hiring experienced video crews may cost a bit more money on paper, but when you've got a house or office full of production personnel trying to get something done, it moves much faster and easier if they know what they are doing. In the long haul, concentrating on what you're trying to communicate is what's important, not worrying about experimenting with how to get it done.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. How long have you been shooting professional video?
What kind of equipment do you bring to the shoot? Why that equipment?
Can you provide everything I need? Lighting? Audio? Makeup? Teleprompter?
Can you get along with the people on my shoot? Can you work with the CEO on down to the server?

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. What do I want to communicate? Keep it short--to no more than a couple of key points.
How do I want to communicate it? (Funny, Inspiring, point by point training)
What do I need to shoot to get my key points across to my audience?
Who is my key audience?
Where is my message to air? (web, DVD distribution, in the office/point of sale, annual convention)
