A. Taking great photographs is something that requires skill, experience and patience. There are a lot of great photographers out there - and I would consider myself one of them. To me, being a wedding photographer is also about adding value. I work very hard to capture just what you're looking for, and I think it shows in my work and in the service I give my clients. So, hard work and great photography together make me a pretty solid bet.
A. Well, it isn't my 9-5, that's what I love most about my photography business. I work full time in the creative field, and photography as a freelance business let's me really enjoy the process and the work. After all, I got into photography as a hobby and I want to keep the passion. That's why I only accept a modest number of clients each year - to keep the process special.
A. There's a lot to ask when you're shopping for a wedding photographer. Access to quality camera equipment has increased. For less investment, more people can get into the business. This is a great thing - it keeps prices competitive and options wide-open. But owning a decent camera doesn't guarantee good results. I think it is especially important to meet with your prospective photographers, get a sense of their style, their commitment, their personality and professionalism, and most importantly, their quality.
