You can change your life. I can help.
I have been a counselor for over 28 years, starting out as a peer counselor in a detox program, then an internationally certified alcohol and drug counselor, working in inpatient, outpatient and long-term treatment, where I also began working with families of addicts and patients with co-occurring mental disorders.
I went on and obtained a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling in 1992.
I began working in private practice, then as well as continuing to work in agencies until 2010. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
I now am exclusively in private practice, but still working with addicts and their families, and doing counseling for marital and couples, mood disorders, mental disorders, and general life issues.
Some of my specialty areas are ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anger management, victims of abuse, social and relationship problems, stress management, and personal and spiritual growth.
I am trained and experienced in many approaches to counseling and psychotherapy, and also utilize mindfulness practice, guided imagery, relaxation training, nutrition, and integrative body psychotherapy.
Clients appreciate that I practice non-judgment and meet people where they are. I believe therapy is a cooperative venture between the therapist and the client, and that change is possible with the most seemingly intractable problems.
I practice in Evergreen, CO and also have an office at my home in Bailey, CO.
