I paint original artworks in oil, usually with palette knives and/or brushes, ranging in size from miniatures to 2'x4'. Also, very novel, framed paintings on glass with subject matters including florals, landscapes and skyscapes. Something that is very unusual here.
I still occasionally paint with soft pastels, also. Let me know your needs, commissions accepted, or take a look at my blogspot or website and decide what works best for you! If the artwork you like is not available, perhaps I can duplicate it for you. Thanks for looking!

We have two small landscape oil paintings that Karla did last fall. One is a shoreline and the other is a sunset sky. They're matted in a wide linen mat board with gold trim and framed in antique walnut Victorian shadow frames. They proudly sit on our mantle so we can appreciate Karla's talent everyday.

Over many years, I've been a fan of Karla Nolan's art. She has continually brought her talent to a variety of media; always honing in and uncovering new ways of expression. I find her art full of originality splotched with beautiful, calming colors. My eyes gaze easily at her larger paintings as my mind wanders to introspective places. I love her three dimensional work as well. I have had several small artifacts of Karla's in my own home and have had many friends ask where they could find Karla's art too. Give Karla a photograph and off she goes, creating something crisp and new, using the photo as inspiration. Ask about her silk art when you speak to her! Outrageously beautiful as well.

I have know Karla for years and can hardly keep up with her energy in painting. Whether it's work on glass, paper, canvas or whatever she has decided to try, it is always from her heart and absolutely beautiful. A true artist!!!

A. You don't see original paintings on glass very often in the U.S. but I do paint them, having been heavily influenced by a master glass painter in Italy. It's an ancient art to which I've applied my own subject matters, particularly floral motifs and the Rocky Mountain regional landscape, skies, and travel themes. A very enjoyable experience.
A. I get to travel all over and get inspired by my experiences and memories. I apply my paints directly to glass, occasionally still paint in soft pastels, and thoroughly enjoy painting in oil paints using palette knives, kitchen equipment, and brushes (which had previously been a worst enemy). My art might be construed as abstracted realism or realistic abstraction, both oxymorons, I know, but something I enjoy conjuring up.
A. My customers ask me about my techniques, my inspirations, my travel experiences, my favorite artists, and so on.
