A. The most common type of job I perform is installation, sand and finish of red oak. The width of the floor planks vary from job to job and each with creates a different look for the room it’s in.
A. Advise that I have for a person looking to hire a flooring contractor (if he/she doesn’t offer the info) is ask them their process they use to complete whatever type of flooring you choose. If it is a concern for you and you do not know the answer ask. You are not only the one that is paying for it but you are the one that has to live with the outcome.
A. It’s very difficult for me to narrow it down to just one thing because enjoy about every aspect of my job. I think seeing the project completed is probably what I enjoy the most. Working with Hardwood flooring is the only job I’ve ever had where get up in the morning and look forward to going to work.
A. The question that I am most often asked is, “What should I use to clean my floor now that is complete?”
My response to this question is, everyday cleaning only requires a microfiber dust mop. When your floors are soiled with dirt that your microfiber mop won’t handle on its own, I recommend Bona© Floor Cleaner.
A. Pricing for most hardwood flooring job can get a bit tricky because you never know what lurks beneath the existing flooring. There are a lot of variables when pricing a hardwood job such as the color of stain, the type of wood, the type of install such as stairs, lace in, repair etc. It’s a good idea to figure out what you want and then have your hardwood company you choose explain the breakdown of the bid. If it’s not itemized, ask them to itemize it. You want to know where and what your money is going for.
