A. If I were a customer I would wish I knew if the magician I was talking to was a seasoned performer or a beginner. Generally speaking established performers never mind giving you multiple references. Beginners are a little nervous about the subject.
A. I have been performing magic directed toward children for 22 years and have been working with my rabbits and birds for my entire life. I consider my multiple performing rabbits and birds to be ambassadors for their species. I found out years ago the delightful antics of my little furry friends enhance my magic. Children from the audience account for a good portion of the fun. They are spellbound when they blow magic breathe on a newspaper article about their function and out flies a magic dove.
A. It really hard to call what I do a job. It is more of a privilege to be able to place huge smiles on the faces of audience members both young and old. I think I like being a professional performing artist who gets to work along side my best friends everyday best.
A. A common question that customers ask is about age appropriateness of our shows. I reply we have several different programs for different age groups. My "My first" programs are written for very young children and can be adapted for special ed. "Connie Elstun's Bunny and Birdie Comedy Magic Show" is written with Elementary students in mind. My "Top Secret Magic Workshop" materiel was written for middle school students but can be adapted for children as young as 7.
A. I have been a professional children's entertainer in Denver Colorado for several years but I started out as a animal husbandry educational booth for fairs and festivals in the Rocky Mountain West. Having raised show rabbits through the 4-H program as a child I wanted to extend the knowledge and love I have for these little creatures on to others. Together with Manna-Pro live-stock feed company I set up information booths during the mid. 1980's. It is important to me that every child learns all about their world including the other species share on our beautiful plant. A lot of people think I use rabbits in my act when actually they use me to create an unbroken bound between themselves and the children we entertain.
A. In college I was bound and determined to be an actress. I modeled for a little while and did a few commercials and print work. I found my love for magic in my late 20's by having a professional magic couple become my neighbors.
