Introduction: I am one of the relatively few property managers in Denver to have joined the National Association of Residential Property Managers. What this means for my clients is that I hold myself to a higher standard of ethics and I am continually taking classes geared specifically towards Property Management that are only availible to members. Working with owners so that they feel that their home, or investment is in good hands while making tenants feel like they are at home.

Mr. Bewley worked for me with Cherry Creek Props as a rental agent for 3 single family homes located in Denver and Aurora for a few years. The rent has been collected and accounted for and significant repairs are being made. He has worked with contractors to take care of defered maintenance that had been ignored in the past. He has also located good tenants for one of the homes. There is room for improvement in communication with tenants. There have been complaints from a long term tenant about being neglected or too busy. Another tenant stopped paying rent mid year (abandoning the residence?) and there have been significant violations and fines on the yard. There may also be unpaid utility bills on the property, i do not know. He does not seem to have time to keep up with what is going on with his properties. I work overseas and I am unable to view my properties regularly. I expect my manager to know when a property is vacant and neglected. Apparently several months of utility bills were not paid also. I suspect attorney's fees were incurred on a vacant property as well.

FAQs

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The sate requires 8 hours of continuing education each year and I am doing more than that to earn the certifications that I feel will benefit me and my clients the most.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
My Grandfather owned multiple rental properties and I was already helping him get them rent ready. When his health prevented him from getting around as easily, he asked for me to help by doing the showings. From then on, I was hooked.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask any and every question that you can think of. Find out if there are other fees that are charged or if they add on to contractors bills.
