About Myself: I am a licensed child care provider with 18 years of experience with children ages 0-12. Being licensed, I have had a background check by the state of Colorado, CPR, first aid, medication administration, and universal precautions.
I have my BA in child and adolescent development, certificate in Montessori teaching for ages 0-3, and ongoing training. A member of the Adams County Association of Family Child Care. I have been a lead teacher at a Montessori school and at a regular pre-school. I have two beautiful children of my own ages 3 years and 6 years old. The children in my care, right now, range from 18 months to 6 years old.
My Program: My home is a safe, smoke free, loving environment with a good sized back yard. I offer balanced nutritious meals, exploration, outdoor play (weather permitting), indoor free play, nature walks and walks to the park ,art, cooking, group time including basic sign language, and some Spanish, colors, shapes, numbers, letters and their sounds, calendar, weather, songs, stories, music and movement, etc.
I also do a preschool program from September to June for ages 2 1/2 to 5 years and modify the curriculum for the younger children. Twice a month we have someone come in and do a 1/2 hour music class called rhythm and rhyme tyme.
During the summer, we have water play. Our group times are also shorter during the summer so we can have more time outside exploring and having fun. I also foster developmentally appropriate independence through potty training, teaching them to put on their own clothes, jackets, shoes, brush their teeth (before nap time), pour their own water or milk, and "clean"(they love this one because it usually involves water), etc.
Hours: 7am (firm) - 5pm (flexible)
Location: I am located in Northglenn, off 104th and Colorado in the fox run single family homes. Sorry, I am not able to transport children to or from school.
Openings: I do not have any openings at this time. You can call me to be put on a wait list. I will not have an opening until 2013. Infant and up starting August 30, 2013.
