"You don't take a photo, you make it"- Ansel Adams
I am a fun and creative photographer based in central San Diego. My style is laid back and easy going. The best photos are candid, not stiff and posed. So kick back, smile, laugh and enjoy the experience.
As your photographer, I want to laugh with you and share an experience that is unforgettable. When we work together, happy hearts are required. Show me who you really are!
I specialize in family, infant and child photography as well as portraits, senior photos, engagements and events. There are so many important days in your life, why limit photos simply for weddings? Whatever event is special to you, becomes special to me.- as long as I get a piece of cake!
A. Clients should have an idea of what kind of photography they are looking for. Are you looking for studio photography that is much more conservative or are you looking for candid and creative photography? The photos that you get will be photos that you display in your home and its up to you to decide what kind of photography you are looking for.
Also, look for photographers who are straight forward with their pricing. Often there will be a listed session fee that does not inlcude the prints or the digital negatives and all you are paying for is the time they spend taking the pictures.
What ever you are expecting, make sure that if it is not listed on their site or in a contract that you ask if something is provided or not.
A. I have a creative edge that gives my photos a fresh pop that stands out. I capture action rather than someone just saying "Cheese". I work with my clients in such a way that makes them feel comfortable with me and my camera, and thats when the magic happens. Also I spend a siginifcant amount of time editing and making sure the photos look great.
I offer your digital negatives to you for no cost, which cuts the cost dramatically from my already reasonable session fees. When you recieve digital negatives you are free to print as many photos as your heart desires.
A. First and for most, I love that I can make a job out something that I love so much in the first place. If I ever reach the point where I could make this my only profession I would do it in a heart beat. I get to be creative, I get to meet new people and see true human interaction at its best.
I love to capture life as it happens and getting to see each reaction. I love to catch a genuine "laugh out loud" because it captures so many emotions in just one picture. Getting a client to the point that they laugh with me is my ultimate goal.
A. My favorite shoot was my most recent engagement shoot. My clients were friends of a friend so I knew them a little. I was really excited about this shoot because it was my first engagement session and I could not wait to get the pictures on my computer and play around. My editing is like having a paintbrush on a canvas, I love it!
The groom-to-be was not to thrilled about having to miss out on a day of doing guy things and having his picture taken for a few hours. As much as I tried I could not get him pumped up for our shoot. I think that his expectations were that the shoot was going to be long drawn out and painfully boring. But once we got started and I got them to goof around a bit he really came around. My favorite shot was of him "strangeling" his wife to be with a big old grin on their faces. - I doubt that they will use it at their wedding but I know that they will put it somewhere to laugh at everytime they see it.
A. That it doesn't matter what type of equipment you have, its what you do with it. Some photographers have massive amounts of equipment and sure it helps some but the real photo comes from the subject and the photographer themselves and the magic they create together.
