FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I treat each client with care and invest around 10-15 hours of my time preparing for your session, photographing your family, editing your images and and ensuring you have the best experience possible! For that reason, each session with me is $200, which covers my time, creative talent, and the expertise that I pour into your session! The session fee does not include any products or digital files. You'll invest in those during your ordering session! Most of my family clients are so in love with their images (many tear up when they see them) that they usually invest an additional $300-1000 on canvases, wall art, prints, and digital files (but you can certainly choose more or less than that depending upon your need)!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I know that kids (and husbands) have short attention spans, so I work FAST! One of the most common things I hear from my clients is that the can't believe how many great portraits I captured of their wiggly distracted children (no it is not just your child who acts a little crazy on portrait day 😉). That is a compliment I'll take any day! LOL! Before your session I will send you a survey to find out your needs and desires from the session. That way I can make sure to get exactly what you need and have plenty of time for some fun extras before the kids get worn out! After your session, I'll take around two weeks to edit your images and then I'll contact you to set up your reveal appointment to view them in the comfort of your own home! Once your order has been placed, your finished portraits will be in your hands within 7-10 days!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I take continual learning and honing my craft seriously. I am part of several online communities of photographers who are constantly challenging one another, giving tips and helping each other grow in our art. I also often do online photography seminars through a website called Creative Live. It is one of the best sites out there for photographers and other creative professionals. I am always looking for new ideas for poses and locations. I spend hours looking through portraits to find new ideas and to study techniques used by other photographers. I receive several weekly emails with new photography ideas and techniques and with the latest photography news.
