About Chodosh Guitar

We offer the highest quality music theory and composition lessons and guitar performance available. Ranging from paid professionals to absolute beginners, our students have come to expect innovation and excellence in their lessons from knowledgeable teachers who have years of experience in studio recording, live performance, the business side of music and as seminar, classroom, and private instructors. We utilize, as well, a teaching system which upholds the very best level of integrity toward our students' education.

We offer students a variety of lessons.

Perhaps you'll agree that our best value is the "20/20". These lessons include a private "one-on-one" weekly session with your teacher, a style session where you work on a new technique or song weekly and a scale class wherein your fingers are worked out, following the instructor to build up your skill level or "chops". Pre-paid students can attend as many of the style sessions and scale classes as they like, at no extra charge!

You can avail of extended private lessons. Try one of our comprehensive programs with a college application in mind or maybe a program for live performance with a composition or band. We have had many scholarship and award-winning students and quite a large number who have either moved on to or started out to perform as professional musicians.

If you prefer, just take our style sessions and scale classes by themselves. Each week, you learn a new technique or song and work out your fingers to various scales. By themselves, these classes are less expensive and an excellent way to get your fingers into and to keep them in shape.

* Extended private sessions.
* Private sessions with unlimited scale classes and style sessions.
* Performance classes for band and studio.
* Seminars and specialty classes.
* Just scale classes and style sessions.

We have the expertise to help, whatever your situation may be. We offer all styles of music for all ranges and types of students.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Make sure that the teacher you hire is actually a good teacher. Of course they need experience as a performer but are they educated in music? Are they pursuing their own level of expertise? Yes, learn songs from them, that's important, but remember, your learning will be faster and more fullfilling if your "teacher" actually knows what he/she is talking about and has an actual understanding of the music being shared with you. For example: If you were studying theater you would most likely be attracted to learning how to give a speech from a working actor but would you want to learn English from someone who doesn't know how to read or write in the English language? Pick someone who is actively enhancing his/her own knowledge and understands the language well enough to communicate it to you. Pick someone who is him/herself a good student of their own art.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I teach absolute beginners, performing professionals and even other guitar teachers who come to learn more about music and to improve their own technique. So I can assure you that we are different. We are one of the only studios in Denver that teaches reading and music theory along with a regiment of exercises, scales, arpeggios and song studies. We make sure that the student is learning how to play songs that they pick while keeping them within one of several proven methods of learning so that they can better reach their own goals. Most guitar teachers today know how to play songs but many, if not most, can't read music or explain music theory. We offer it all to our students. They learn what they want and what they need to become the musician that they want to be.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love guitar. Performing, recording, teaching guitar. It feels wonderful watching students smile as they reach their goals on guitar.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. They often want to know if they can play a complete song within a year. We get them playing so much more than that and so much sooner than they could previously imagine. So much more!
