Introduction: I am writing and using my own curriculum that is customized for each student's level and interests. I love seeing each student's progress and the satisfaction they get from their own performances at recitals, Crescendo Cafes, local open mics, and band performances.

Our 8 year old son started Piano lessons with Sandy in January and he loves it! Sandy has developed a unique and highly organized teaching system that approaches the craft of piano playing from all angles, not just learning to play notes from the page. Students work in parallel at learning composition and music theory, as well as the requisite study of sight reading and technique. Sandy uses a creative reward system to keep students motivated. Even more key to keeping them motivated - she let's them pick their own 'personal repertoire;' so not only do they learn to play the songs that she gives them, they also get to play the songs they love! A performing musician herself, Sandy also works to foster an enjoyment of performance in her students (guitar and voice students as well). She does this not only through the more formal and common recital format, but also through informal and welcoming "Crescendo Cafe's" at her house, where students are put at ease by the cozy atmosphere, and get to perform not only by themselves but 'jam' with other students and some of Sandy's musician friends! Students don't just learn to play piano from Sandy, they learn to love playing music. Top notch teacher!

Both my daughter and I have been taking piano lessons with Sandy Connolly for 2 years now and have loved every moment of it ! She is very organized and prompt with her lesson plans and attentive, encouraging and patient with her students which combines for a wonderful experience every time. She has taught me to go beyond just hitting the right notes at the right time and to make an emotional connection with the music which has brought my playing to a whole new level. She also provides numerous outlets through recitals and Crescendo Cafe to give us students a chance to perform "live". Thank you, Sandy ! I really couldn't ask for a better teacher for me and my daughter. Thank you for sharing your love of music with us.

I've always wanted to learn to play the piano. I dabbled with it for years with only minor success. Finally at age 53 I met Sandy and began to take some lessons. I have learned more from her teaching/coaching than I would have imagined. She has helped me in a years time to develope my musical skills from being a nervous "plunker" to being able to confidently join my church's worship band. Sandy LOVES music! And it shows in the way she teaches. She gets more excited about her students progress than even her students do. Her infectious enthusiasm is encouraging and confidence building and opens the door for her students to love their own music. She is not just a teacher, but a talented musician in her own right. She can play a variety of instruments, has a wonderful singing voice, and appreciates a variety of musical styles. Whether you are young or older like me, she has a program that will teach you music and is adaptable to your skill level and interest. My only regret is that I didn't become one of her students much sooner. I'm sure Sandy could have been "instrumental" in leading me to greater musical achievement.

Sandy has been teaching me to play the ukulele and teaching my grandson to play the guitar. She is very, very patient, always encouraging, and amazingly competent. It has been a wonderful experience!

Ms. Sandy is the best piano teacher I have ever had, she is patient, teaches a lot, and gives you a choice on what to play while still sticking to the curriculum.
