Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am sincere. I honestly know that I must complete the job sincerely, because if I didn't I wouldn't feel right. It's about follow-through and double checking. For example: Checking to see if my "doggie in care" has drunk some water and whether the weather would warrant a little coaxing in that direction. Sometimes, just brushing a cat or petting a dog and talking to them lovingly is all they need to past the time until their owner comes bounding in to see them! They soak up energy like sponges and can tell if I'm sincere. It's my job to see that they are safe, fed, brushed, walked, relieved, picked up after and comforted in any way possible. Just sitting with the husky that I took care of, was a gift. To feel his grandeur and majesty helped to relax me and helped me remember that now, the love we share together this moment is enough. When the four gray cats I cared for finally all came out from hiding to sit on top of me to watch tv. When the two little doggies from Weston would wake me up with their kisses. Things like this make my world a bright place!

Marshall was a rare find. I was stressing out about leaving my little Yorkie and Havanese for a week. I didn't want to put them in the kennels because they were so traumatized last time I did that. I interviewed many people to come stay at my house with them. And when Marshall arrived, we knew she was the right one. She is caring, responsible and honest. I even received photos of my little ones. I left for the West Coast with total peace of Mind. We even have coyotes on the property and I didn't even worry about how she would watch them. Marshall loves animals and has an affinity for them.. You'll be lucky to have such a lovely care giver for you pets with Marshall taking care of them.

My family has known Marshall for a very long time (though I wasnt as lucky until I moved to Connecticut). I was blessed enough to have Marshall take such good care of my baby Nanuq. She sent me daily updates and pictures of them at the dog park which helped me enjoy my holiday with the family in Florida. She was even available short notice when I ended up in the hospital. I believe animals are a great judge of character and Nanuq absolutely loves her (which wasn't the case with some ex boyfriends)!

I went on vacation for 8 days. My kitties (3) needed care and love while I was away. Marshall took beautiful care of them. Spending time, feeding, brushing etc were more that I asked for. She did a fantastic job caring for my loved ones and I'd hire her again.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have fallen into Pet care. As a yoga instructor, I often had time in between classes to care for friends pets, so that's how it happened. And when they went away, I was a trusted friend who could come and stay over with the dogs or cats or visit them daily! Since my children have grown and are off on the west coast, pet loving as many animals as I can, is comforting and rewarding! Just love those wagging tails!!!

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

The most common jobs I do is walking dogs and checking in on cats and brushing them or just spending some time at the house with them while their master or mistress is away. Just listening, looking into their eyes to see where they are at any given moment. Generally tuning in to see how the animal is doing, observing them and making records if the owner has requested that.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I am proud of caring for a yellow lab, Sam, at the end of his life. I was with the dog daily for 8 months and watched as he became less and less agile. His owner was away at his job traveling a lot. Sam accepted it all. We tried a plank to get up and out of the house and that worked for a while. I especially remember being with him, sitting in the afternoon sun on some of the last days. I felt so honored to be chosen to be with him. He was so regal, he taught me so much about life, acceptance and gratitude.
