FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I belong to two national organizations, so there are sources to keep up on all the latest developments in my field. We also can view the work and stories of other home stagers across the United States. You can always learn something new from other home stagers. I also have the ability to see what's new with other businesses related to home staging, so it's a win, win situation.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always had a passion for decorating, and was constantly redesigning the rooms in my home. Coworkers, friends and relatives saw my work and began asking me to help them with their own homes. I thank them every day because I absolutely love what I do, and not everyone can say that. Most people work for a long time and don't feel that way. When I say I love my work, I really mean I love my work!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Each job is different, depending on the budget the home seller has to work with. Typically, I stage the main living level as that's what the buyer sees first, and then go on to the bedroom and bath spaces. Basements, garages and finished attic spaces are last on the list. Usually, I will give the seller a "Honey Do" list for exterior work, but I have a landscaping professional on my team, as well.
