He told me I needed to pay in cash or pay him personally instead of sending the payment on an electronic format or written out to an LLC. Sadly, multiple miscommunications occurred because of a language barrier.

Hi Alice. I’m sorry we couldn’t reach an agreement together. Before I start a job, I need a deposit. I can’t come 5 times in order to get one. It wouldn’t have been an problem had the check been made out to the LLC as I am a business owner. Again, I apologize if there was an misunderstanding. Best of luck to your family!
