Introduction: I'm thorough and meticulous. I take pride in what I do. I enjoy working hard and I pay attention to details and communicate with my clients as to what exactly they want from a cleaning service. I use only the best vacuum cleaners--Dyson and Kirby--I own both and they are superior to any other product out there including Electrolux. The satisfaction of a job well done. I enjoy creating a space which encompasses a sense of peace and serenity. Messy spaces can create angst. Coming home to a clean house feels good; some people feel more motivated to tackle other household projects once their home is clean and organized.

I hired Ruth to clean out the estate of an elderly couple. The wife had died and the husband was moving into a convalescent home. This couple had no children and had over 60 years of belongings and memories filling every nook and cranny of their home. One thing that really impressed me about Ruth was the respect she had for the home and belongings of this couple. She took the time to sort through everything, to suggest what things should be donated to charitable organizations, what should be thrown out, and what items were really special and should go to family members. She then delivered the items that were to be donated to the appropriate places. The kitchen was in deplorable condition, with a refrigerator and cupboards full of bad food. Ruth cleaned out everything, cleaned the cupboards, appliances, and floor to move-in condition. When Ruth was finished, there was absolutely nothing left in the house and it was move-in ready as far as cleanliness. She even cleaned out the basement and garage. Ruth was so easy to work with and willing to do anything I needed her to do. I would highly recommend her for any type of cleaning assignment.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been cleaning since I was a child. I am comfortable and content in cleaning and I do an excellent job. Why not get paid for something I enjoy doing? Also, I love the flexibility of working for myself.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of my jobs are residential. I ask my clients to make a list of what specifically they want me to clean and I follow that list. I start by quickly organizing one room-straightening the area and then vacuum and dust. If there is art/photos on the walls I dust them. I vacuum the corners of the room, walls, and ceilings. When I clean toilets for instance, I get down on my hands and knees and clean the entire toilet inside and out and the surrounding area around the toilet.
