- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
To get the most from your massage: Plan to arrive about 10 minutes early...so you have time to relax before your session. If you are late, you might miss some of your treatment time, plus if you are rushed, it will take longer to relax! You also may need to complete some paperwork if it is your first visit. Don't eat or drink alcohol before your massage. If possible, a shower is recommended prior to any spa service. Please try not to wear any perfumes or scents to your session. Please advise your therapist if you are sensitive to nut oils or any creams. Your therapist will leave the room when you undress (and dress). If you're not comfortable removing all your clothing, discuss it with your therapist. Many people choose to leave their panties or briefs on. Good communication is important. Before the session, let your massage therapist know what your needs are. During the massage session, report any discomfort, whether it is from the massage or anything else -- room temperature, music volume, lighting, etc. Feel free to give feedback on the amount of pressure, speed of movement, etc. Remember, this is your time! Breathing helps facilitate relaxation. Deep breathing helps you relax. People often stop breathing when they feel anxious or a sensitive area is massaged. If this is happening, let yourself breathe. Some people like to talk during a massage session, others prefer to remain silent. This is your choice, the therapist should follow your lead. Drink extra water after your massage to flush out toxins and minimize muscle soreness. If you have deep work, it is possible that you may be a bit sore for a day or so after your massage; drinking lots of water will help minimize discomfort! Dont get up too quickly and do allow for some open, quiet time after your massage session. If youre dizzy or light headed after the massage, do not get off the table too fast. It also may take a little time to integrate or absorb the results of the massage session. Be prepared to schedule several massage sessions for maximum benefits. In order to fully enjoy your own relaxation and allow others to do the same, we ask that you please turn off all cell phones, watch alarms and pagers during your visit with us. Thank you.
