Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Most common jobs are usually carpet cleaning and upholstery cleaning as well. Over the past several years the leather cleaning and restoration has been very active and keeping us very busy at that. Yes there a accidents on alot of these jobs caused by something or someone in the home as well and most of the time I'm able to come to the rescue

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. I would check to see if they are listed with the Better Business Bureau, have commercial liability Insurance, what type of cleaning products they use for cleaning, are they certified in their cleaning field upon application, years of experience, any recommendations they can provide and most important check with your local or state police departments for any criminal records.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Can you clean safely and are you certified in cleaning textiles?

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I offer multiple cleaning of many textiles, clean for health, years of experience, very dependable, and most of all your comfort is our business!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I go from location to location, my job is not boring, I meet new people everyday, get to play with the pets, watch their children grow up being a parent just reminds me how important children are and why we use the safest products and equipment around them.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. I laugh sometimes when customers tell me they are planning to get rid of that worn out carpet or tired old chair. After it has been cleaned by us, I know by habbit that I'll be seeing that item again and have to clean it over again my next visit there.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I don't brag about my cleaning education unless it comes out in topic. Usually it puts most people at eaze when they realize they have a pro taking care of their home and items.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. Well the leather end of my business started back in the 60's as I watched shoemakers repairing and cleaning shoes. The carpet phase started in the 70's back when shampooing was the in thing and portables were brought into the home. I obtained most of my knowledge with a commercial firm in which sparked the interest of someday I would go out on my own.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. I have to say most of my leather restoration jobs are the rewarding ones. Just to be able to bring back and restore a well made crafted piece of fine leather are the ones that stand out the most. It is a challenge most of the time, but when it is completed to the finish, I have one happy customer for life.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Of course, education and research has always been the front runner in my business. Someday I plan on teaching my skills to the next generation that come into the field of study and on the job training in the texitle industry. Our products and equipment change rapidly and understanding all issues relating to safety concerns me as priority number one.

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. Staying healthy first is most important, and my leather experience has brought me into a playing field of which my competition is very low and few and far in between. Even some of my competition will refer me to their clients or call upon me for expert technical advise.

Q. What are you currently working on improving?

A. There is always room for improvement in any aspect of work relations, job descriptions, time frame, being very productive justifies any profit brought in from any service offered and I stand firmly upon this cause time does matter and we all know how short time can be.
