Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Look for a professional and certified stager. It is their only business to get homes designed to please the buyers eyes, so to ultimately sell your home for a higher price. It gives your realtor the time and tools to market your property to a larger audience of buyers and gives you the time to focus on your next home, or your next goal in life.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Staging is an investment into marketing your home to as many as possible potential home buyers. If you don't stage, your home may not look as unique and attractive and you essentially leave money to the buyer that should have been in your wallet.
Your real estate agent will market your home, a stager will give your real estate agent the right tools and product to market. Statistics have proven that staged homes sell faster and for a higher price.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. *Is staging your only profession, or do you focus on other priorities (real estate, interior design, home remodeling, etc)? (if others, how much time will be dedicated to actually stage, how much experience would they have in staging?)
*Where did you get certified, what associations do you work with?
*What services are included in your staging offer?
What are other costs that I may need to cover in the process of staging my house (furniture rental, shopping, painting, etc.)? Do you include any?
*When are you available?
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. * I completely focused on home staging and redesign in this area.
* I am originally from Europe, have traveled and lived in various countries, but live for nearly 10 years in Fairfield County. I believe, this gives my work a unique approach to the design together with many years getting to know the Connecticut people, understanding what they are looking for when searching for their new home.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. Well, they don't ask me directly, but it may be the first question on their mind - why hire a stager at all, houses sell without being staged?
Yes they do, but for how big a loss (or smaller profit) to the seller?
Maybe your real estate agent suggested it, or even offered doing it. Or maybe you just heard about and wanted to look into it. Or maybe you are one of the few and understand the value of it, but look for further professional advise on what you have staged already yourself?
In any case, my answer is, you made the right first step in looking into getting professional advise. Your home may be gorgeous, but will it attract the most potential home buyers to look at it? Design changes, is your house up to date? Does your home invite buyers to make a great offer? Do you know your real estate market? And most importantly, do you have the time to focus on all this? A stager does, it is his/her business.
Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.
A. It really depends on the house, what salesprice you are looking for, what time you have to invest and much more. Each house is unique and each situation is different. After an initial consultation at your home, I will give you a staging (or redesign) offer, depending on what I believe will be best for your situation.
