About
I change my personality to suit the needs of my students. Some are very shy, others are just afraid to make mistakes, especially in front of another person. Still others are very friendly and chatty. I work well with students of ages, all personality types, different interests, and special needs. I most commonly tutor students who are highly intelligent, but math is not their strongest subject, or they have issues with testing well because of anxiety, preconceived feelings of inadequacy, or poor test-taking habits. The expression on a student's face when they finally understand a concept! I also love the long-term friendships that have resulted from my great client relationships.

It was a great summer due to Beth and her outstanding skills in math to help my son with his math. He is now in high school and doing well. I would like to thank her for all her help.

Beth has been helping my daughter with high school honors Geometry. She is amazing and has helped her to understand the subject enough to pass tests with scores in the 90s. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Beth has been an excellent fit for our 11th grader. As midterms approached last year, he was falling further and further behind in math. On the first test he took after one session with Beth he received a 92! She was very reliable, coming every week right on time. Our son seemed to enjoy the sessions, and by the end of the year, instead of groaning about homework he actually likes math now. His confidence has improved in every subject, and his grade in math is currently a B+, up from a D in the middle of last year. I would pay double her charge to be guaranteed the results she delivers.

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

If you are a parent looking for a tutor for your child, make sure he or she is open to the idea and willing to work one-on-one with someone. If your child is young or has attention deficit issues, it may be preferable to schedule daily 15-minute sessions rather than an hour a week.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Results will not magically appear with an occasional hour session every week or two. When committing to tutoring to raise grades and build a student's confidence, you need to schedule regular sessions and stick with it. I have had amazing results in the cases where there was the most regularity. Also it's important to remember that an occasional tutoring session is not a quick fix. Raising grades and test scores takes the effort of all involved. I believe in communication among student, teacher, parent, and tutor. One of us working harder than the rest can't do it alone. We are a team. I work as hard as I can, but it is ultimately the student who needs to take the tests.
