Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A. So many people see immediate and long term results when they put in the effort to change their accent to be better understood. Many get a job, get promoted, or do well at school. One of my favorite stories is of a Chinese woman who had married an American. He thought the class would be a waste of time since she'd been here for so long and still couldn't even pronounce her new last name. Well, day one she went home and pronounced her name perfectly. She impressed her husband and went on to improve her comprehensibility in many many ways thereafter.
