FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Sessions range from Deep Tissue, therapeutic problem solving massages to strong flowing but gentle esalen like swedish sessions designed to entrance and enhance you. Conversation may be kept to a minimum or allowed to flow freely as determined by the client. Same with music. Current oils in use are E O lavender and a proprietary blend of mint based (nice for rejuvenation) Non scented oils not available at this time No petroleum based products. My practice is somewhat full, but I enjoy meeting new clients to keep things fresh- schedule on the website is not reliable- best to contact with your specific availability. I have a no bullshit policy. I appreciate clients who are similarly inclined. Philosophically, I believe in as small an intervention as possible and trust the body to heal itself- that sad. I generally as strong a masseur as people need- I rarely need to use all of my strength to effect comfortable healing or trancelike relaxation. I drape with a bath towel- this enables me to not break contact with clients- you are welcome to a sheet if you request it. I respect my clients modesty at all times. My eyes are generally closed anyway.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Be specific in the time you are interested in- and maybe have an alternate available. Also, relating your issues in detail over email means more time at the table during your session. Also- dont ask me if tipping is appropriate- its an embarrassing question. Of course it is both appropriate and not necessary. In this economy what fool would turn down free money?

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

That most of us haven't the foggiest notion of what we are talking about or doing. Bodywork is guesswork and art- not science. Anatomy and physiology is a working pallet from which we try to connect with a human and give them professional care. Also- nothing is to be gained Therapists from telling people are tense and need massage. We are all tense- I am there to introduce a positive relationship between your brain and spine and legs- not to reenforce your fears that you aren't quite right. My job is to give pleasure and awareness to people- you are good. I wont tell you otherwise unless Im mad at you. And that doesn't happen that often.
