Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. If I were a customer I would probably feel a little lost when purchasing a memorial, because it is usually the first time they have needed to purchase one. I strongly encourage my customers to speak with the cemetery themselves so they have a better understanding of any rules and regulation the cemetery may have since each one is different. Also, I encourage my customers review completed memorial examples and research how previous customers feel about a memorial company before making a purchase since it is such an important and permanent decision.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Sartin Memorials & Mike's Laser Etching is dedicated to customer service & quality. Each etching is designed to our customer's specifications to fit and compliment their headstone of choice. We offer over 700 laser etched design options and if you don't see the design you had in mind in our design stock, we can have it created for you. We also offer traditional sandblasted designs. Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Here at Sartin Memorials we offer a service to the community by helping those that have lost loved ones create beautiful memorials to honor their lost loved ones memory. Each order is handled personally by a member of our staff so our customers get a one on one experience. Since memorializing the grave of a loved one is such a difficult process emotionally, we do everything we can to make the process more comfortable for our customers.

After searching on the internet for just the right company, I found Mike's Laser Etching, but more importantly - Heather Rice. I was not the easiest customer asking for at least 3 iterations of changes. Heather was always courteous, helpful, and projected a willingness to continue with as many changes as required to provide me (her customer) with what I wanted. Pricing was very competitive, but you do not find customer service like this in many companies. The result was a fitting memorial to my wonderful mother, and my children's loving grandmother.

Heather did an AMAZING job on my son's headstone. Losing your child is the hardest thing a person can ever go through. In all the conversations I had with Heather she really made me feel special. She always remembered my name and the details of my son's death and she made me feel like I wasn't just one of a long list of customers. I wish I could put a picture or the headstone here because it really is that amazing. And the price was very reasonable too. Heather helped us choose the perfect monument for our beloved mom during our difficult time of grieving. We had no experience in purchasing any sort of cemetary marker before, but we knew we wanted something special and unique, just like our mom. Heather was knowledgeable, kind, helpful and patient with revisions to the custom design ( we wanted to alter a "stock" design, adding balloons and subtracting an airplane, and include our mom's picture). We enlarged print, we shrunk print. Still, Heather was most patient. The workmanship in the finished product was outstanding. The whole process was extremely smooth, and we would recommend Mike's to anyone. When it was delivered, the cemetary director remarked that our mom's momument was the most beautiful she had ever seen.
