- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I make it a priority to learn about my clients' likes and dislikes and engage them in friendly conversation during training sessions. I remain positive and upbeat to motivate & inspire others. I learn what sort of encouragement each client responds to, and I make an effort to create an individualized workout program that includes short + long term goals which= success plan for them based. I work with all ages but I believe my trainining specifically with youth fitness, Strong Enough (YMCA certified), and getting a specialization through ACE for Youth Fitness. This taught me how crucial youth development is. It's not easy, it's a process where you are working with children on different aspects of fitness that translate into developmental tools that lead to success further in life such as focus, respect, discipline, confidence and keeping active & healthy. It is statistically proven to correlate adolescence and adulthood with better success in order to achieve his or her full potential. Youth fitness is youth development. I emphasize this so much because it is that important to start early with good routines, habits, tactics, tools, etc. that are all promoted through activities and experiences that help them develop social, ethical, emotional, physical, and cognitive competencies above their peers who hadn't had the training or been given the right tools. My secret combination of strength & stability mixed with a little cardio + added flexibility training techniques has proven a success ! Using resistance training I’m able to help increase bone density and overall shape/tone to the body. centered and moving correctly; or more specifically, moving with the right form that will prevent injury as well as help alleviate any current pain or discomfort in the body from improper past movements. There is an infinite number of workout routines that I can create for my clients to help them reach their goals! There are thousands of different exercises, and new ones being established/created each day. It’s finding the right combination of exercises for each client that makes all the difference. With 7+ years in the fitness industry, working in various gyms, teaching classes or individuals from ages 4 to 86 years old, private studios, country clubs, schools and athletic facilities— I’ve had the opportunity to train a good variety of clients because there is no one-size-fits-all in anything in life...especially fitness. With a great variance in age, fitness level, and goals - no two people will have or be the same. By gaining this experience working with different clients after many years gaining new knowledge to build on what I already know and learned, I feel confident in saying that I am a great personal trainer. I’ve only gotten better each year, month and day that goes by at being able to uniquely and effectively implement proper workout routines for each of my specific clients, regardless of any ‘limitations’ they msg think they have. While some limitations are physical and take time to heal or fix, others (most) are mental — and my job is to rid you of any mental negative or dismissive thoughts in regards to your fitness.
