Reviews

  • 1/5 stars

My experience with digiatl imagery is unfortunately very displeasing, and I did not even use them as a vendor. Upon submitting my quote on thumbtack.com I received 8 quotes. Obviously, I can only pick 1. After spending many hours on each website, looking at their options, and deciding with photographer could handle the job I needed, within range of my budget, I chose one. After being informed through the website that Digital Imagery was not chosen, they felt it necessary to not only respond with a comment alluding the the fact that the company I chose would not do a good job, but then they decided to give me a personal review. Since when does a company review the client when they are not chosen?? Their reply to me was, and i quote..." I wish I could see the finished products from your wedding. I really would love to see what the reason for not chosing my studio. "
Also, for their personal review of me, I received a 1 star rating out of five, with another rude comment, "Another client wanting cheap photography. I don't do cheap photography" How dare you, as a company think you can act such a way. Shame on you. It is not for you to decide what is "cheap" and what is not. My budget is my budget. YOU should not have responded to a post that said their budget was 0-$500 if you "DON'T DO CHEAP PHOTOGRAPHY."

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Digital imagery is a full service photographic company and Media Consultant. Promotional imagery for businesses and professionals.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Go to other Photography Studios and see what they charge, then come see us at Digital Imagery. That's the only way you will really understand that what we are offering you excellent service at a great price.

Generally speaking clients want/ expect the same thing as Chelsea Clinton ... but don't want to pay for quality. Plan early and establish a photography budget, ask good questions. Talk to more than 2 photographers to get the best idea how much you need to budget for your imagery requirements.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. What is quality imagery? Because a person goes buys a camera and can produce an image does NOT make them a professional. There does come a time when technical & practical experiences begin to seperate the novice, the enthusiast and the professional, and with those differences so are the cost.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. The difference of being simply content or pleased beyond words with your delivered imagery. Will it serve the purpose it was intended for, or will I have to have it redone, if it can be redone? Brides, you paid a good dollar for that dress, and you want to see your face and your dress in your memories. Well with Uzuri Images you will be very pleased and ready to take product to the next level.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. 35 years of experience and study in the art of photography. Trained in the area of photojournalism one is not given a second chance at a shot. Instinct and technical skills are essencial to place oneself in the right position to capture that moment in time.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Photography has been a love of mine's for over 40 years. It is something about the feelings I experience when I present the final product to my client(s). The laughter and tears brought on by my images is a feeling like no other. And that feeling is ... that work is my efforts, evoking those emotions.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. What are our package prices? At Digital Imagery we do not work from a package format. It our mission to provide our client(s) with the imagery they require. Our pricing is based on the client's agenda and product to be delivered, manpower, time and equipment requirements are also included.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. Was at a local event when a fellow photographer who just recently view some of my work for the first time came over to me asking me about my settings. He asked about my camera, choice of lenses and did I ever take photography lessons. It was obvious ... he admired my work. And I felt good hearing another artist show appreachiation for my work. So answering his questions was easy ... although I did manage to avoid telling my settings.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. It appears my decision began with my Great-Grandmother who in the early 1930's purchased a camera, and the love of photography passed to my Grandmother to my mother then to me.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. Jekyll Island Hotel Resorts, Jekyll Island, Georgia, June 1998 our studio was hired to document the resort by Leon A. Weiner & Associates. This was a large and difficult contract, we worked hard and the results came out fantastic.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Yes, I am currently attending the New York Institute of Photography and I also attend trade seminars to keep up on new equipment and the current and upcoming changes in the industry.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. A slideshow presentation highlighting the professional career of someone about to receive an award for lifetime service.

The contract included taking a few images of the awardee, the scanning and retouching of submitted images of subject throughout their career. Placing these images in a presentation including provided audio segments.

Cost ... $450.00, 45 minute video

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. In these economic times trying to establish fixed pricing is not necessarily good for business. We specialize it providing what the client spends their money for, not having to accept product you really don't want or can't use for purposes intended. We advise all potential clients sitdown and establish what monies do they have available for what they want, and to go do some price searching, ask questions. We are certain once you do the research, then come see us you will see Digital Imagery is the one for you.
