Sustainable Marketing and Public Relations would like to thank you once again for contributing as a Sponsor of the 2011 Downtown Boca Film Festival. The event could not have been as successful without your partnership and donation. Fade to Black's participation in the Downtown Boca Film Festival truly elevated this event in regard to community recognition, volunteer support, and additional sponsorship assistance, to name a few.

I look forward to partnering with Fade to Black again in the future. Thank you once more for your generous sponsorship and your community involvement. To whom it may concern:

It is with the greatest confidence we recommend Fade 2 Black Productions' Daniel J. Sanz and Zachery D. Powell. Their work with top companies and organizations such Florida Atlantic University, The Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, The Florida Marlins, The Miami Dolphins, The Sun-Sentinel means they meet the demanding deadlines and exceed the competitive standards of their industry.

All this professional commercial experience is just one side of their creativity. The other is their interest in and generous support of independent film projects. Fade 2 Black joined our experimental short film project GIRL IN THE WINDOW as sound engineers capturing the story through the nuance of wind, footsteps and sighs in the text and spontaneously found on location. They also worked beyond those roles and pitched in with helping hands on the myriad of responsibilities on a low budget/high vision indie film.

So impressed by their complete focus on each and every element of film making, we have enlisted them as our film editors on another of our short film projects HEAR ME (www.hearmemovie.com).

We are delighted to have found Fade 2 Black for we know our artistic vision will be realized to the depth and breadth of our creativity.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Have a clear idea of what you would like to accomplish with your product and sit down and talk about it with a producer. It is vitally important to keep a constant line of communication open and ask a lot of questions.

We offer free consultations and our goal is to make sure our customers understand everything that will happen during the production.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. There are a lot of gimmicks that are very popular right now; certain camera models, 3D and other ploys that people hear and think they need because they are popular.

Each tool is custom designed for a specific application and we work with our customers to recommend what is appropriate for the project.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. 1. Make sure they have limited liability insurance. It is required in order to secure filming permits. Many video producers do not have this and will employ "guerrilla video tactics" which can be effective however incredibly limiting and risky.

2. Do they guarantee their work? Ask them their process of corrections, revisions and quality control.

3. Ask them what their area of production is. There are many services in this industry and several companies specialize in just one area of production. Look for a company that offers Producing/Creative support, Pre production and planning, shooting and on location production services, post production editing and effects, audio recording and mixing, mastering and final product delivery and duplication.

4. Ask them to walk you through the production process from start to finish. It is critical that you understand everything they will do to complete your project.

5. Ask them about their archival process. Videos are edited on computers and take up storage so when a project is completed it is often removed from the system. Ask them what their process is if you wanted to come back for later revisions/updates and their process for restoring the project.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Most importantly the customer should know what they want to achieve with the video. Who will they show it to and what is the desired effect?

They should also list out important information that they feel needs to be included. This will help in the planning stages of the video.

Have a list of what you DON'T want. If you are specific about what you do not want included then this will also help the production team understand your needs better.

Have a time frame and budget range in mind. You should always ask a company for a quote on your video, but also be honest about your budget. Many times the company will be able to make accommodations and work within any preexisting limitations.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. We love creation and story telling. Taking concepts and ideas and manifesting them into actual sounds and images is a thrill, and we are passionate about helping others bring their visions to the screen as well.
