About Art-Faux Designs Inc.

Naples, Florida artist, Arthur Morehead creates more than just decorative finishes for home or office. With over 30 years of experience in the painting industry and being an artist that spans a lifetime, everything from murals, trompe l'oeil, marbling, graining, and just about everything in between, is within his versatility.

I prefer to create custom designs for my current and new clients that are as unique as they are; after all, no two people are the same. From oils to acrylic painting on canvas to full-scale murals can be painted in the studio and shipped anywhere or can be painted on site.

Highly sought after and regarded as an expert in the field, Arthur has held numerous seminars, "how to faux" tutorials, and has spoken publicly on what has become known as faux finishing.

I don't care for the term "faux finishing" myself because what I do is very real. If you want an authentic plaster finish, I can create that for you.

Do you have a problem area? Maybe the answer is to paint an illusion to make it appear as something totally different with a trompe l'oeil.

I know Art as a professional colleague and can say he is one of THE most knowledgeable artists I know on a technical level (he really knows his chemistry!) and from what I have seen of his samples, he is extraordinarily talented as both a fine artist and muralist and decorative painter.

I own a decorative painting company in New York, and have known Art for many years. He is a leader in our industry, and always on the forefront of finishes and techniques. If you live in Florida and are contemplating hiring Art for your next project, I KNOW you won't be disappointed.

Art handles himself very professionally. he spend quality time with the client to get a feel on the type of work to be done for them. Art also spends an exceptional amount of time to make samples for his clients.

Remember from fine art to murals and faux finishing to trompe loeil, even imported plaster to venetian old world textures for walls, ceilings, moldings, columns, dome ceilings, ornamental design, bas relief, wall sculpturing, Interior designers, architects are encouraged to call for a team effort approach

Wow it is mind blowing that I would get so many reviews at one time but it's all because I believe I have been blessed in more ways than one. The ability to diversify and utilize many art forms gives my clients more than just an artist, more importantly they get an Artist of Many Colors.

I have found over the years that Art-Faux Designs, that is the professional knowledge and compassion for promoting the art of faux, to be really first class.

Arthur M. from Art-Faux Designs Inc. replied to this review on November 26, 2012:

First class is what you get from someone who is very passionate of their work, whether they are an artist, florist, musician or a dancer you will see the best of the best come forth from those who have worked the hardest to be nothing but the best only because there is no other way to be, my only hope is the more I learn the better I can become.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. The trends I see are Wall Art, Murals, Marbling and Wood Grainning, small fine art murals I am also doing many ceilings and columns. Color consultations for straight painting are common. However my versatility is immense being I have been artist (self taught) my whole life and painting for 35 years. I am also involved in the commercial and modern/contemporary finishes and wall art, theme room and scenic ideas

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Make sure the experience is there with who ever you hire. Knowing how to paint a picture is one thing but knowing what and where you are painting it is something is entirely different There are claims of short cut products that are cutting down on labor costs which i refuse to use due to the fact that they have not been tested long enough. I have found myself repairing many of these decorative finishes that have .cracked, yellowed, chipped, delaminated and even eaten right of the wall. yes that's right eaten..Trust me ya might not want to know! lol

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. In my market of decorative arts and Murals, wall art and fine art a good question ask an artist of course would be what are the primary and secondary colors, and the differences between color value and saturation. That question would even stop and make an apprentice and even a professional think some times. Or even ask what is the measurement from a ground line to the horizon line.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. It's all in the details. I am not the average Faux Painter. I am a professional decorative artist, muralist, painter with many years in the coatings industry. I have had a successful painting contracting business for which I have retired from and am now enjoying what I love and that's to make people smile. I enjoy working with people with a vision and I do my best to turn it into a reality and I am very selective of who I work with because it is my job to make that connection. Grumpy, mean and disrespectful people need not apply.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. Oh yeah I have quite a few stories that are both inspirational and hilarious some will even bring a tear to your eye. You see many of my clients have become repeat customers because of the trust that we build. Of course my stories don't have anything to do with them personally it's mainly about myself and the fun I have with painting or my thoughts, you should read my blog sometime, I can really get out there in left field sometimes lol
