FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) are part of any licensed contractors requirements for remaining licensed. Additional ongoing training is essential in this fast paced business. Fortunately, suppliers and manufacturers put on regular webinars, seminars, and on-site training to keep us up to date on the latest trends and methods. Of course, reading trade publications keeps us up to date on many of the new products and successes in the field. We're always learning, and take feedback from employees and customers very seriously. Over 37 years in the business has provided an amazing number of lessons-learned - something essential in the solar contracting business.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
We do tons (hundreds) of solar pool heating installations every year, and have thousands of happy customers. Solar domestic water heating is a common and obvious product we install. Solar electric is the "Cadillac" of solar products, and is what everyone wants these days. We install systems big and small.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Fafco Solar has completed the largest solar photovoltaic (electric) system on a government facility in Southwest Florida for the Lee County Board of County Commissioners at the Lee County Public Safety Building (Sheriff's Office). This system is 54.28 kilowatts, and is comprised of 236 solar modules and Enphase microinverters. This system is 5-10 times the size of a typical residential installation, and is enough to power about 1/6 of the facility's electrical needs. There is plenty of room for expansion of this system, which we hope Lee County will choose to pursue.
