- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was in the USN for four years and I started trying to workout more but did not really know what I was doing. I had always been interested in it just did not have anyone around that was and could teach me. It was not until a time out to see when I was in the ships gym spinning tires trying to think I knew what I was doing when I was caught off guard by this really big, dark skinned, muscle bound male! lol ⦠I gained courage and approached and asked if he could show me some things. Before I knew it, he took me under is wing and I became his workout partner on deployments and he became my best friend. It was after time spent with him in the gym that I then fell in love and once I completed my term; moved to go to school in this field.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask what it is they will do to determine your progress? If you have a goal of "toning" which is saying that you want to gain muscle mass and lose fat mass then ask in what way will they determine that; a way that is explained to you and you can understand. Then I would ask if they had any other "tests" to see the progress in strength or endurance.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish more people knew the red flags to watch out for and what is a fad and what is long lasting.
