FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I stay in touch with the IWFA (International Window Film Association) news and the Architects Guide to Glass and Metal to hear about any new products and applications.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Al Nelson, our technician, lived in Santa Barbara. His mom, Jean, was an interior designer and wanted her windows tinted to protect the interiors from fading. Al started learning how to tint by tinting her car and their home. She was extremely pleased at the results. Al realized how effective the product was and later moved to Newport Beach and opened his first store, Western Glass Tinting. Maria, originally from Pennsylvania and current owner/partner met Al in Newport Beach and they were married 2 years later. Her background is a business executive with years of experience as an administrator of a non-profit and then CEO of a nutrition company. Maria took over the sales, marketing and promotion of Western Glass Tinting and then Al's Window Tinting.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Mobile Auto Tinting, Residential Tinting for reducing heat and energy bills, cutting glare, protecting furniture from fading and creating privacy. Commercial window tinting for energy savings, heat reduction and glare reduction. We also apply decorative films for interior design and privacy, like our white frosted film. Our Sales Exec, Maria, offers free estimates for Commercial and Residential customers and will show you film samples and help you choose the best product for your project. We also offer commercial clients engineering reports on ROI (return on investment) for larger projects.
