Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Make sure you are hiring a legitimate business. Choose a window tinting company that not only has a reputation for excellent products and services, but that will be there for you in the future if you have any problems. Also check the company out on the Better Business Bureau's website. It is an important indication of reliability.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Many people think that there is only one kind of window film. That is far from true. There are hundreds of types of films out there today from the old dyed metal films to high tech nanotechology and spectrally selective films. The quality of the window film will affect how it works and how long it will last on your home, building or vehicle. In each brand there are low end films designed to last a few years to films that are designed to last a lifetime.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Ask the professional to show you a copy of its business license and insurance. Make sure there is a physical address of the store, not just a home or storage locker as is very common in many services. This way if there is a problem you have somewhere to go to get it resolved. Also, make sure you see a sample of product you are purchasing. References would also be helpful.
