Question and answer
Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. Preparing foods for people who are ill and also families that are healthy and want to continue that wonderful feeling that incredible health brings. There's nothing like that feeling. You can have all the money your heart desires but without health you have nothing.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. My advise is to be ready to implement a healthy lifestyle for yourself, your family and especially your children if you have any. You are the role model that your children will learn from and develop their habits from.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. How to heal from disease and chronic illness. It is written in many books so nothing is a secret. The question is, are you ready to change your life for the better and live a more fulfilling life. When the student is ready the teacher appears. The roles are reversed also. As much as I am a teacher, my clients are also my teachers too. I gain so much knowledge about life from all of them.
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. Before seeking my services as a healing chef, please be open, honest and willing to listen and change. No one can better or change their lifestyle from unhealthy to healthy with just lip service. Change involves action and if you're READY then I am available. I am not here to twist people's arm and convince them. I am here to help them if they are ready.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. My work is specialized. I am a healing chef. I have healed myself of prostate cancer. I help people to heal themselves from disease and chronic ailments by helping them to change their lifestyle to a healthy one. My work is vital in healing the body, mind and spirit. I don't just make food for show. I make food for a purpose; to live a healthier lifestyle.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I love to see people change from illness and negative habits of living to positive. The miracle then happens and it's such a joy to witness it.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. How did I heal myself of cancer? I answer that I had to incorporate habits that changed my mental, physical and spiritual being in order to cleanse myself holistically. By doing so, illness cannot live in a alkaline state in the body.
Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A. Yes. Not only healing myself from disease but also healing others in my 28 years of dedication to others and helping them to change their style of living to a healthier lifestyle. I work with people who are willing and ready.
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. I want them to know that I'm all about love. I care and am such a compassionate person and a good listener. I respect where people are and their willingness to change their lives. I am service oriented and give so much attention and love to people I work with.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. I got into the exercise field 32 years ago and just realized how proper nutrition goes hand in hand with fitness. You can't have one without the other. It was a natural fit. I became involved in 1978 with Ann Wigmore, founder of Hippocrates Health Institute located in West Palm Beach, Florida and saw the miraculous work they have been doing and I really really really wanted to be part of it. It became my passion and my goal was to disseminate this passion to help others change their lives for the better.
Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.
A. My most recent job was working for a family who exuded love and appreciation in their household. I loved going to their home on a daily basis. It was a celebration every day and I prepared foods with such love and creativity. The economy hit their finances hard and they could no longer justify paying a chef but were willing to learn how to do it on their own and save money and I was willing to help. I loved their family and to this day I still communicate with them.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. I subscribe to many magazines, journals, and read books constantly in order to keep up with new techniques.
Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?
A. Holistic medical practitioners and nutritionists are always finding new things out when it comes to how activities affect the body and how various herbs and foods help or hurt the body. I believe in organic foods and the simplicity of ingredients in a dish and hopefully because more and more farmers are going back to growing organic, and because there is a greater market for it, the prices will go down and make it more affordable for people.
Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.
A. I don't have a complicated pricing system. I like to discuss this private structure with my client since hours spend, extent of service, individual needs, etc. are a factor in quoting a price for services.
Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?
A. Be very open minded, study and soak in as much information as you can. Unfortunately there are no cooking schools to attend in order to learn how to teach and live a healthy lifestyle. You have to persevere and be diligent in your research and study. Hippocrates Health Institute does have a 6 week course on healing holistically which is excellent. I am sure there are others which I am not aware of. It has become more popular to educate yourself on living a healthy lifestyle.
