Question and answer

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. While we do run permits for companies ... we ALSO manage the permitting process for commmercial or residential projects. South Florida is not like other areas ... it is very complicated. We work with the owner, design team and general contractor to organize the permitting process and provide frequent reports keeping track of who needs to provide what! We stay on top of the details so that nothing falls through the cracks. We are focused on the details of the overall project, not just one area.

With our clients or as their representatives we will attend meetings with city staff or public meetings.

We also will do research for a project at the request of our clients or their consultants.

Our team is diligent, focused and determined to be effecient and effective ... helping our client reach their goals ... and deadlines!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. As the owner and president of Government Process Services I love my "job". It is a perfect fit for my natural gifts and talents. When tested I am about equal right brain/left brain ... that means I've got the engineer type mind and I am also creative. I can be very focused on the details, come up with creative solutions to any challenges and can easily communicate with those that lean more to the right or the left. I love the variety, I love the details and I love the people. I can relate just as easliy with a plumbing sub contractor as I can with a building official or an attorney on the project.

I also love my team and it is a pleasure working with them to provide the best services available in our field.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. The most common question asked of me is "how long will it take to get the permit or the license?' They usually are looking for a straight forward answer like 2 weeks or 30 days ... but I have to explain. It is often not the building department or the licensing department that needs the process expediated ... although relationships do help. It is the team that we are great at expediting. It is usually a piece of information, a drawing, a detail, an unregistered contractor or something that is MORE in our control that can influence the time it will take to "get the permit". We communcate to the team what they need so as to reduce or eliminate comments so the permits go through with little or no comments. Of course the quality of the items submitted affect the number of comments ... but as far as our part is concerned ... we do our best to expedite everyone and everything!
