Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. I specialize in images of Food, Product, People & Places
for advertising & marketing.
I DON'T shoot weddings,babies or partys.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. -Get your "ducks in a row" before you call.
-Hire a competent professional, do your research
-Be organized
-Act professionally

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. "Macy's never told Gimbels"
And neither will I, some things need to be kept "close to the vest"

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. -Know whatyou want, show examples
-Communication, don't be vague
-Orginazation is important
-Make a list of what you need done, explain it clearly

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Two words, Creativity & Experience.
With over 25 years in the business, I've done work for a wide variety of clients in many different fields. I've been awarded over 40 ADDY awards for projects done for some verry happy clients. This tells me thatI haven't been skating by on my "good looks alone".
And, to have survived for over25 years in this industry, you have to be good, or you don't last.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Even with the number of years I've been doing this,I still get excited about a new challenge, new project or
just a new product to shoot. Many of my friends envy the fact that I love what I do.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Why should I pay your rates, when I can borrow a friends "good camera" or find a "student or beginner"

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. Lots of them, but not here...

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. That good photography has value, and that the images a customer uses to represent their company, its products and their employees need to be the best they can get.
"Good enough" dosen't work anymore.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. A long story, but I did my 1st paying job when I was 13.
I rode up on my bike,did the shoot and the customer won 1st prize for the display I shot.They were so happy,
they gave me a bonus.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. I'm proud of all of the work I do.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Mostly seminars, webinarsetc. There's no real CE for
Photographers.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. In a nutshell,DIGITAL
It's totally changed the industry in many good ways,and
a few bad ways.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. An uncomplicated product shoot.
The client sent me the item, I shot the images he needed, did a few more "out of the box" shots, they loved them all, they paid me a bit more than the estimate for the "extra shots",I sent the item back, Everyones
happy.

A. I try to adjust my price based on the clients requirements
and their budget.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Study Photoshop, don't give your work away
