A. Its really not a secrete, The most important thing to keep in mind for the consumer is The word CHANGE ORDER!! Some contractors will give you a low price knowing that will not be the final job cost. They intentionally leave items out that most consumers don’t pick up on until its to late. I call them chance order contractors and don’t like doing business that way.
A. One of the most important things a home owner must think about before Hiring me or any other contractor is Cost and return. Your home is one of the biggest investments and should be treated that way. Kitchens and bathrooms are the most expensive rooms in the house and also will bring you the most return for your money. When renovating a kitchen or bath keep in mind what you like someone else may not and what’s hot today will date your house in the future. The perfect example is the dome ceilings in the kitchen that where very popular in the 70’s. If you see one today well you know exactly when it was done. Use natural colors and never changing materials like granite. Its up to date today and 20 years from now.
A. It was not up to me!!! My farther was a general contractor and put me to work at an early age after school weekends and summer vacations. Although I did learn to love my work I do sometimes wish he was a doctor or something of that sort. I have been in construction for over 34 years and still do love it today.
A. YES as a general building and roofing contractor we are obligated to have to attend a continuing education school every two years to keep up with state and local building code changes.
