Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. I enjoy interacting with the customer solving their wiring needs, especially computer wiring and equipment connection, and home entertainment systems.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. If you need electrical service, be sure that the person you speak to on the phone is a Master Electrician, and be sure that the installer is at leased licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Most contractors send a unlicensed trades person, instead of a qualified electrician to save money.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. 1. Ask for the company website address; visit the site.
2. Ask for referals; call them.
3. Find out who is going to be sent to your home/business; let them know that you want only a licensed electrician and that you want to see the license.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. The customer should take a few minutest to visit our website - www.PremierPower, Inc., to get to know more about us and our services. Taking some time to know who might be coming to your home is an important safety step.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We are a professional organizational and place customer service and quality workmanship in compliance with the National Electrical Code a top priority.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I enjoy people and my business gives me the opportunity to interface with the public. It feels great knowing that I can help resolve an electrical safety issue or to get power back on.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. What is your price? Naturally price is an important factor in all purchases, but the bigger picture is that you want to be sure the person is licensed, has a good reputation, understands and is concerned about you and your family.

In addition, the price must provide the opportunity to allow me to cover all of my costs so that I can be in business to provide follow up service and to provide for the needs of my family.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. I love it when the little old ladies give me milk and cookies! They are so cute...

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. What many don't realize is that when an electrician is sent to a job, they are not likely to have been licensed. Worst yet, they probably have never taken any training classes!

Please be sure that on you job, there is at lease one person that is licensed, and you can verify this by simply asking, 'please show me your electrical license.'

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. My dad (www.MikeHolt.com) writes books on electrical wiriing (he's one of the best in the world), so it's in my blood...

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. Naturally I'm proud of all of the work I do, but I really enjoy is seeing the satifaction in the customers face of a job well done.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I attend a minimum of 16 hours of continue education classes a year to maintain my license (only require 8). It jest so happens my father "Mike Holt" is considered one of America's top electrical trainer - www.MikeHolt.com.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. The key to any successful business is to follow the basics.
1. Care about the customer.
2. Be professional and honest.
3. Provide outstanding service.
4. Charge a fair price.
5. If you make a mistake, make it right.

It doesn't really get the complicated.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. Well, we are a 24 hour/7 day a week emergency electrical servcie contractor, that works directly with the customer to solve their needs in the most efficient and effective manner. So I don't really have a major job to 'brag about.'

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. Our pricing model is simple, you tell us what you need, we give you a fixed price with no hidden costs.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. There is a big difference between being an 'electrician' and an 'electrical contractor' so let me answer each separately.

Electrician - Have a passion to know how things work, like the outdoors, have basic mechanical skills, and like science and math in school.

Electrical Contractor - Business is what contracting is all about; this means you really enjoy people, you like to solve problems, you understand how to manage people and like team work. I good business person has a mentor that will guide them for at least 3 years.

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. I enjoy people and like to solve their electrical problems.

Q. What are you currently working on improving?

A. This is a difficult time in our countries history, unemployment, forclosures, federal spending, etc. But these are the times that force us to sharpen our skills, to not take things for granted, and to be a better person.
