Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Look for honesty and accountability in a detailer. Only hire detailers that you feel that you can trust on your property, not to mention dealing with your personal vehicle for 1-6 hours depending on the job. Keep in mind that there are crooks out there looking to rip an honest person off, so know what the going-rate for work is and never overpay for services.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Claying your car is probably the most overlooked points when detailing a car. Claying is extremely simple to do, however it is very time consuming. You can easily spend an hour claying the entire surface of your vehicle, but you will save money doing it yourself, without relatively breaking a sweat.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. How much do you charge per hour? Do you know how to clay a vehicle? How much do your competitors charge for similar services? Are you insured? Do you guarantee your work? Can you wash and detail my car without a high-impact pressure washer? Do you accept checks made payable to your DBA or company name rather than your personal name?
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. We get a special kind of pride out of taking a vehicle that is in serious need of reconditioning or simply just a good cleaning and making it standout in a crowd - for all the right reasons. Making dull wheels shiny, flat paint glossy, foggy headlights clear and dirty carpets clean are just a few of the things that make our jobs worth doing.
