Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. My most common and favorite types of jobs are High School Senior Portraits. I love this one on one style of photography and today's youth are so unique, fun and awesome to work with.
Next would be working with families. Families are fun and it's really neat to see the interaction between family members. Those are memories that will always be remembered!
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. My advice would be to do a little research. There are a lot of people advertising as photographers. Check their web site and their work. Ask for references to see if other clients were happy. Legitimate photography businesses have a business license, pay taxes and are insured. Ask for proof of that information. And remember that cheap is not always good.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. If I were my own customer I'd wish I'd known that I don't have to go to the school contract photo studio for my high school senior portraits and that there are other photographers like Scott Russell Photography and 904Seniors that provide top notch personalized service with awesome and unique products and photos.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. At Scott Russell Photography and 904Seniors.com I believe in providing unique and different senior photos unlike the contract studio where all the photos look the same. No assembly line or cookie cutter photos here!
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I love every aspect of my photography business. From meeting new clients, going on fun photo shoots, editing their awesome photos and then getting to show them the end result. It's personal every step of the way and that's how it should be. Personalized, fun and totally awesome experience!
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. Yes, you have to if you want to stay current and not fall behind. I read a lot of books and not just on photography but also on business and marketing. I attend training seminars and my most favorite is online video training.
