Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. In seeking a therapist, it is important to make a connection with that therapist. A person can pretty much tell immediately if they "click" with a therapist. You should not have to work to make the relationship work or fit. It should happen naturally.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. I engage you in finding solutions to your problems. I offer a safe, confidential, non-judgmental environment in which to seek answers and be heard and understood.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. Sending someone off with tools and skills to use to live a richer, more fulfilled life.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. I would like to assist you in uncovering and using your strengths to find solutions to your problems.
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. Often people don't know what to expect when they call for an appointment to begin counseling. Some have a picture in mind of how therapists are portrayed in the media and films. That's not me and not how I work with people. I think of you not as a client or patient but as a co-therapist, engaged in finding solutions that work for you.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. This is a second career for me. Before deciding to which graduate school to apply, I looked at my volunteer work which was all in the social service area. It included being a literacy volunteer, packing and delivering food for a local food bank, delivering that food and working on their hotline. I figured if I enjoyed these jobs enough to volunteer, I should look at furthering my education to do it full time where I could work one-on-one to help people. I obtained a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Rutgers School of Social Work in NJ and entered the period of clinical supervision that I needed to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have never once regretted my decision!
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. I keep current on trends and research in various areas by not only acquiring the mandatory Continuing Education credits but exceeding so I am aware of the latest developments in my field.

A. I am on several insurance panels, however, if I do not take your insurance I can offer a courtesy cash discount. I also have slots available to offer a sliding scale depending on need.
