I've been taking weekly piano lessons (jazz, improvisation) with Ron for about a year and half. It feels almost odd to write a review about someone who's become such a friend and valued part of my life. More than just a brilliant, talented musician and teacher, Ron always finds the perfect window to expand my understanding... of playing, of theory, of jazz and music history, and beyond. Ron's had a life of worldwide musical adventure, he's intelligent, and his knowledge is encyclopedic. and he always finds more new ways to share that knowledge. Ron is also incredibly generous and thoughtful... he's repeatedly found opportunities to connect our lessons to what my 13yo son is learning on trumpet, which has created some truly treasured moments. I can't say enough about what a joy it's been learning from (and just spending time with) Ron.

Ron has been the best teacher I have ever had period!!! He teaches jazz and very few know how to teach that. He is of the highest level musically. He teaches improvisation and all the skills needed to be a jazz musician. He is just gifted as a teacher and communicator. He puts his heart into his teaching and is unbelievably patient. He will within minutes know where you are musically. He does not waste time on what you already know. My ears, musicality, and understanding of music have improved so much. Learning jazz makes you a more well rounded musician.
Finding Ron as my teacher was one of my biggest gifts in life.
