Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. That being able to communicate with the contractor you hire is more important than the cost of the project. If you have great communication with your contractor it will save you money, do not be afraid to ask questions. If your contractor gets aggravated with you asking questions about your project he probably is not the right fit for you.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Are you the license holder for the company? If not why not? Ask to see copies of license material; anyone can say they are licensed but can not produce license material. All licensed contractors are required to have their license number on all advertising material from business cards to letterhead, if this number is not listed could indicate person is not licensed contractor.
